Apologies for being so quiet of late. So a while ago we mentioned that we might have some big news. Well this week we went into Seedy Underbelly studios in LA to record with producer Nick Launay. Nick has worked with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Public Image Ltd., Kate Bush, Talking Heads, Gang of Four, INXS, Lou Reed, The Cribs and Supergrass and many more. Its a huge privilege to be working with him and we are obviously excited to hear the finished results. We will be in the studio for the next 2 weeks and we will hopefully be able to start previewing some of this new material. Ill try to continue to post pictures, videos and more information as i have it this week

Today we begin mixing the EP after an intensive week of recording. If all goes to plan then hopefully next week we will be starting to put this all together so you can all hear it. More news as we have it. Starting to think of ideas for a self made video like we did for ‘knife in my back’. There’s a lot of possibilities here.

It seems like we have been in the studio for a month, not a week. Cannot believe how much seems to have got done in such a short space of time. It’s hard to keep saying what this record will ‘sound’ like. I just want people to hear it. Such a departure from what we have done before. It was hard to choose 5 songs out of the 13 we had written but these are definitely the right ones. Ill hopefully have some previews of tracks next week, as well as what we will be up to next. We are on the cusp of having some very, very, VERY exciting news.

So we have been in the Liverpool at Whitewood studios all this week. Has been a whirlwind so far in terms of recording. I have never seen it all come together this quickly before. Its been a real change and i really like this way of recording. Have really approached everything a bit differently. Its been a long time since we have been able to do Live takes of songs where all 3 of us play in a room and can capture a (dare i say it) ‘vibe’. In terms of sound the record is a mixture of live and electronic drums (something we could never do on Blood will have Blood) so there is definitely more of an aggressive feel on here. In terms of the sound i think we are all in agreement that this is the most accessible material we have wrote. The EP will feature 5 tracks. We will be posting a video tomorrow and hopefully more throughout the week.

We also named the record. The title of this EP will be ‘CENTURION’

So the first batch of orders went out today. Keeping with the whole theme of this being a collectible item, we didn’t want to just send it out in a brown envelope so everything should be arriving in black Smoke and Mirrors Boxes. Here are some pics of us in our office which is joined to the studio. All in regulation Black and white as you can see,ha. We are hopefully going to start revealing some of the new imagery & themes of the new EP. It already has a name and i will be posting some lyrics/ teasers of songs hopefully over the next few days
